Non Visual Approaches

“Blindness is just a non-visual approach to a visual world.”

– Gian Pedulla

Gian has been a teacher of the Visually Impaired for fifteen years, with varying experiences in classroom, itinerant, and resource room settings. In May of 2018, he was appointed to a supervisory position for District 75 within the NYCDOE. District 75 is a city-wide district responsible for all the services and supports for students with special needs throughout the five boroughs.

Gian’s personal experiences as a professional who is blind will be an asset as well as an addition to any organization. He attributes much of his success to his ability to adapt and integrate to different environments and to utilize strong interpersonal skills to interact with a variety of individuals and personalities, both disabled and non-disabled alike.

Assistive Technology has been an integral part of his ability to access an array of materials and complete a variety of assignments to achieve his goals, both in academia and the workplace.

Gian is available to consult for a number of services including but not limited to:

• Accessibility testing

• Training

• Sensitivity training
